Attorney Park Jong-han, Keynote Speech at the National Safety Seminar on 'Preventing Serious Accidents and Effective Safety Management'
According to the National Assembly on August 25, Members of the National Assembly’s Environment and Labor Committee, Ahn Ho-young and Kim Joo-young (Democratic Party), along with Member of the National Defense Committee, Park Hee-seung (Democratic Party), co-hosted the national safety seminar on 'Preventing Serious Accidents and Effective Safety Management,' organized by KAIST and the National Security Reform Forum.
At this seminar, Attorney Park Jong-han, the representative lawyer of Cheongchul Law Firm (former head of the serious accident TF at the law firm Lee & Ko) delivered a keynote speech entitled 'Analysis of the Achievements and Limitations of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act After 3 Years and Suggestions for Future Strategies (Focusing on Serious Industrial Accidents),' analyzing the limitations of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and emphasizing the need for smart safety technologies utilizing GPS, IoT, and AI CCTV.

Additionally, the moderator, Park Bong-kyu, representative of the National Security Reform Forum, stated that it was “a very meaningful and timely seminar,” and emphasized that “it is time to consider safety beyond construction, firefighting, and industrial sites, and into the defense sector.” He added, “This is an excellent opportunity to explore improvements in national safety by using advanced positioning technologies such as integrated indoor and outdoor GPS and underwater positioning technology,” and highlighted the need for the establishment of a National Safety Technology Center in the long term.
