Law Firm Cheongchul's Lawyer Eom Sang-yoon conducted an interview with 'Law Issue' regarding the ‘Increase in Foreigners Involved in Drunk Driving Crimes’.

Recently, there has been an increase in crimes involving foreigners in the country, notably with a marked rise in traffic accidents involving foreigners.
If a foreigner receives a fine above a certain level, they may be subject to deportation under the Immigration Control Act, which requires attention.
Law Firm Cheongchul's Lawyer Eom Sang-yoon stated, “If foreigners residing in the country, or overseas Koreans with foreign nationality, are sentenced to fines due to criminal acts such as drunk driving, they may be subject to deportation according to the Ministry of Justice’s ‘Criteria for Review of Foreigners Sentenced to Fines’. In other words, if a foreigner has a residence in the country, it is necessary to understand the situation clearly and respond comprehensively with the help of a lawyer regarding criminal cases and administrative actions related to immigration.”
