Attorney Kim Kwang-shik interviews with 'IT Chosun' regarding Watcha's rehabilitation proceedings and the possibility of bankruptcy

Attorney Kwang-shik Kim of ChungChul Law Firm conducted an interview with 'IT Chosun' regarding the rehabilitation proceedings of the OTT platform Watcha.

Recently, with intensifying competition and worsening profitability in the over-the-top (OTT) market, management uncertainty for content platform companies has been growing. Watcha is also the focus of attention regarding whether it will pursue a merger and acquisition (M&A) and its future viability during the rehabilitation process.

Attorney Kwang-shik Kim of ChungChul Law Firm remarked, “If the merger and acquisition falls through during the rehabilitation process or if the possibility of rehabilitation is not recognized, there is a possibility that it could lead to the termination of rehabilitation proceedings and bankruptcy proceedings,” adding, “The process moves forward based on a comprehensive review of the company's going-concern value, liquidation value, and the possibility of attracting investment.”

Further details can be found in the published full interview.
